Guest of Honour – Potoroo

It is our great pleasure to announce Potoroo as our first Guest of Honour. Potoroo is a musician, writer and major player in Eastern Canada’s furry fandom, firstly creating the Guelph Furry Breakfast meets in 1998. Potoroo went on to larger success creating several highly-respected yearly events in Toronto, and became chairman of Camp Feral! in 2005 — a position he holds to this day.

Potoroo’s acceptance speech is as follows:

“Booyah comrades. I got word that some crazy furs in London wanted to DELIBERATELY sneak me in the backdoor of some soviet spy con and let me loose through the convention halls. I took stock and figured…damn, I like London. Furries are obviously a people I like to surround myself with. And if there’s anything I’ve even been proud to be called, it’s ‘pinko.’ I’m honoured, very touched, and pleased your con isn’t part of some five year plan…mightve worked for Stalin, but I can’t plan five years in advance!

Thank you for legitimizing my anti-responsible brand of responsibility and acknowledging that pierced and tattoed freaks with pink Mohawks can do more than…pierce and tattoo other mohawked freaks. Oh…and that pink is the new EVERYTHING COOL!

Looking forward to vodka, borscht and cold war communism, furry style.
